In a one-time only event commemorating their 15 years as a band and their first ever Greatest Hits compilation, Foo Fighters will perform an exclusive live over the internet concert from the band's own 606 studio complex this Friday October 30th at 7pm (PT) / 10pm (ET).
So there I was, sitting in front of my mac on Saturday 10am watching the live concert streaming at the comfort of my room. I love this format: Totally stripped down, fan requests, very intimate. Songs that they forgot how to play and improvised along the way - I don't know if every band in the world could pull this off - but its far more interesting than what U2 did a week ago via Youtube.
That was the best f*king Foo show I've ever seen. They rocked it so hard. No other band would play for 2 hours and 40 mins like that in the studio as a gift to their fans.
They played a lot of their older stuffs from the earlier records, which was really, really unexpected (since I hardly had chance to hear them done live!). A mixture of their hits, and then there're some for the hardcore listeners, and the 'play the b-sides and the stuff no-one knows'. I can't believe how effing cool this is.
The awesome setlist(!)

The Britney fever seems to be back. And I was surprised why Weela's phone did not contain a single song of hers. So we came up with a spontaneous bet, and I lost!
So there you go! The 'Break The Ice' bet costs me a $49.25 Prego lunch.
"Let you warm up to me Baby I can make you feel hot, hot, hot, hot!
On last Saturday night at Burger King, XXTSDG was reminiscing about the top 10 hits of Rarerich and came up with a trivial question (involving Lawrence) on the song - 很C的D. I haven't laughed so hard or felt happy for a long time... but this really cracked me up! - Well, those were the crazy b days.
My drum practical & theory results are out today. Was feeling a little apprehensive on the way to Paragon to face the music, but decided I shouldn't worry too much since I have done my utmost best.
Well, I got DISTINCTIONS for both my Drum Practical & Theory!!!! Man, I was thrilled cos this success was so bittersweet after hours and hours of hard work. This has somehow reinforced my decision to press on and become a professional.
Here are some of the excerpts from the examination report:-
"With playing sensitive to the style, the mood was evoked. There was a subtle sense of the pulse and the swing rhythms were relaxed. There was good attention to the details of the score and with good ensemble awareness, this made for an engaging performance."
"An assured presentation with ease of technique. There was a well-maintained pulse and the playing was rhythmic with well-graded tone, ranged through the dynamics. Rarely, the Hi-Hat was opened at the wrong place. Fluent and controlled playing."
It's been 20 years already. And I find it difficult to keep bearing this grudge in me - it pains and drains me. Perhaps it is time to let it die, and learn to accept him for who he is.
I think I feel better now.
This week has been a volatile ride - not a great way to start off the 2nd half of the year... Things just didn't go smoothly, and I find it tough to channel away the bad energies. One colleague has commented that the workplace is vastly different now - it has evolved to an environment I loathe - always complaining, too busy, too impatient, too superficial, too indifferent, too quiet, too cold. Except for official businesses, no one is really talking anymore.
I have been relatively quiet in the office these days - everyone says I have mellowed so much since my reservist last October. Yeah I noticed the difference myself too.
